Home Made Star Wars Costumes
Summer 1999 Communiversity
presentation on Star Wars Costumes
The Communiversity Costume Class was held on
Tuesday, July 13 1999.
Look at this bunch of great
Star Wars Fans!
Pictured are: Paula, Kyle, Rita, John, Wade
and John's wife.
We had a blast! The UMKC Communiversity set up the class in the South Branch of the
Kansas City Public Library. We had a great meeting room with a projection style VCR
! We watched my 40 minute video that features an overview on building several of the
costumes and additional information on molding and casting techniques.
I brought several different examples of props, costume pieces and reference books.
Naturally, we had a great time sharing Star Wars costume experiences after the organized
presentation.
Thanks to everyone that attended the class. Stay in touch!
The next costume class will be held on September 21, 1999 to give you time to prepare your
costume for Halloween. By the way, the Kansas City Station Casino has a rockin'
Halloween Costume Party. Anyway, I will post times and locations as soon as UMKC
determines them.
What is the Communiversity? It is a series of classes taught by volunteer
instructors, sponsored by the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Please visit
the the Communiversity Website to see the course
catalog and instructions for registation.
